Plein Air in Langkawi

18 Nov 2016 Ferado

According to Wikipedia, plein air (French pronunciation: [ɑ̃ plɛn ɛːʁ]), or plein air painting, is a phrase borrowed from the French equivalent meaning “open (in full) air”.

I love the energy that comes from plein air artists – Impromptu, brief, capturing only the essence!

Langkawi Art Biennale 2016 artists can be seen painting away in various locations :

Today’s introduction to Malay culture of celebration – Kenduri Kendara ..open air cooking with everyone chipping in in a ‘gotong royong’ (community working together) style was the topic for some of our artists.
