AHMED RAGAB SAKR

Ahmed Ragab Sakr’s extensive educational and professional journey is marked by significant achievements and positions in the field of fine arts. He served as the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at El Minia University, holding this esteemed role from November 1, 2011, to March 11, 2015. During his career, he contributed as a Professor of Book Arts and an Associate Professor of Graphic Design, leaving a notable mark on the academic landscape. His expertise also led him to the role of Supervisor of the Department of Animation at the Faculty of Fine Arts at El Minia University, which he assumed on September 18, 2004.

His academic journey began as a Graduate Assistant in Graphic Art at the same institution on February 21, 1988, and he gradually progressed through the ranks, becoming a Lecturer on June 7, 1992. He received his Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Graphic Arts with a focus on Book Arts from Helwan University in 1992, where his dissertation explored “Islamic manuscripts as an early phase of book arts.” Notably, he furthered his studies with a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Art with a specialization in Book Arts, conducting research on the “Contemporary Plastic Language of Book Arts through Islamic Art” at both Helwan University in Egypt and the University of Erfurt in Germany.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Ahmed Ragab Sakr conducted research on Lithography and Handmade Papermaking from 1996 to 1998 at the University of Erfurt in Germany. He also studied Sculpture at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Helwan University in 1984.

Ahmed Ragab Sakr’s illustrious career and dedication to the field of fine arts are evident in his academic achievements and the significant roles he has held throughout his professional journey.
