Persatuan Pengurusan Art Malaysia (PPAM) together with the founder of ArtMalaysia is in the midst of organizing the 3 rd Langkawi Art Biennale 2020 (LAB2020) to be held from 18-24 March 2020. After a few hiccups, resulting in the date being brought forward to coincide with Visit Malaysia Year 2020, we are happy to say that things are moving rapidly to bring LAB2020 to fruition. We are expecting about 130 local and international participants from over 26 countries. And with YAB Tun Dr. Mahathir’s full support for this event in his letter, we are one step closer to making Langkawi, an international art destination!
PPAM was set up as a vehicle to promote Malaysian art, to expose Malaysian artists to international art scene and to develop the potential of Art Tourism in Langkawi which will benefit both businesses and the people of Langkawi. We are currently building the first phase of our Art Village (Perkampungan Seni) which will provide accommodation for artists and tourists, art gallery, performing arts stage, art library and café. Many sculptors have offered to contribute to the making of a Sculpture Garden. Currently, construction is fervently underway to be ready to welcome participants of LAB2020!
At the same time our LAB2020 team is busy confirming with participants; arranging accommodation; finalising itinerary; sorting out paintings; preparing text and photos for the printing of LAB2020 Coffee Table Book and actively seeking more sponsorship for the event.
To-date, PPAM has appointed two secretariat officials to canvass for corporate sponsorship and advertisement space in the LAB2020 Coffee Table Book. They are, Shamsudin Bin Awang Putih (Secretariat Director) and Muhammad Faris Bin Che Hak @ Yusoff (Secretariat Officer).

To cater for about 130 participants, we are also looking for sponsorship-in-kind such as materials for community art jamming (making art with LAB2020 participants), discounted tour packages, transportation (buses, bicycles), catered meals (not pre-packed), eco-friendly utilities such as water filtration units (at Art Village), personal water bottles, metal straws, etc.
We would love to hear from you. Do email us : firstname.lastname@example.org
TOGETHER, LET’S MAKE LANGKAWI, AN INTERNATIONAL ART DESTINATION!
