Life is short, as I am a cancer-fighter, a nature-lover and a dreamer, I do fingerpainting to recreate my colorful dreams and imaginations.
Liza Ariffin is a Penang-born artist who loves working in instinctualist style. She is a finger-painter who works primarily with her fingers and hands to create imaginary paintings of nature, flora and fauna, animals and anything involving the environment including the cities.
Liza is still battling Ovarian Cancer and its complications after being diagnosed with the disease in 2016. She took up painting as a therapy in 2018 to fight the depression that came with the cancer. It helped a lot and she later decided to keep painting to brighten her life.
Her artistic journey started in the first group exhibition in mid-2018, and until now she has joined 8 group exhibitions, most being the ones organized by ArtMarket Malaysia.
She hopes instinctualistic fingerpainting will be further recognized as a branch of art that will have many more lovers in the future. And she will keep on painting natural landscapes and mystical panorama to lighten her livelihood.
