Ng Hui Shuang is a Kuala Lumpur-based Malaysian artist whose practice explores the relationship between structure, movement, emotion, and nature. She holds a Diploma in Fine Arts from Sunway University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Plastic Art from Dayeh University, Taiwan, where she graduated in 2020.

Working across painting, mural art, photography, and mixed media, Shuang’s artistic development reflects her continual exploration of different mediums and visual approaches. Her time studying in Taiwan, particularly in the mountainous environment surrounding Dayeh University, influenced her sensitivity towards the contrast between the urban landscape and the natural world.

Her works often examine the intimate relationship between rigid lines and the weightless flow of freedom, creating a visual balance between bustling urban energy and the tranquillity of nature. With an emphasis on emotional expression, her practice has gradually evolved towards a more abstract language, using colour, form, and gesture to convey inner experiences.

Beyond studio practice, Shuang has participated in group exhibitions, art competitions, mural projects, and community art initiatives. She was a finalist in the UOB Painting of the Year Competition and the Vision Petron National Student Art Competition, and received First Prize in the Sketch in Life Contest organised by PUBC and Senheng. In 2023, she presented her solo exhibition, Ups & Downs, at STEG Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

From 2020 to 2021, Shuang founded White Rain Coffee + Artjam Classes in Taiwan, combining art education with a creative community space. Since returning to Malaysia in 2022, she has worked as a full-time artist, continuing to develop her painting practice while undertaking mural and collaborative art projects, including the Artlamak Collective Creation Project and a mural project for the Peranakan and Straits Chinese Museum, Kuala Lumpur, in 2026.

Shuang continues to explore the possibilities of colour and natural materials, including experimenting with extracting pigments from nature. Her practice remains an evolving journey of observation, experimentation, and self-discovery, reflecting her belief that artistic growth comes from never ceasing to learn.

Lim Jee Yuan
(b. 1953, Kuala Lumpur; based in Penang)

Lim Jee Yuan is a Malaysian artist and urban sketcher who has resided in Penang for more than four decades. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Housing, Building and Planning from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). Primarily self-taught, Lim has developed a distinctive artistic practice through decades of observation, sketching, painting, and continuous engagement with the arts.

His formal exposure to art began in Kuala Lumpur during his early years. In 1967, he attended art tuition conducted by renowned Malaysian artist Chia Yu Chian at Selangor Mansion, Kuala Lumpur. The following year, he participated in night workshops conducted by Chung Cheng Sun. In 1974, he furthered his artistic knowledge by attending a short art course conducted by Yeoh Jin Leng at the Specialist Teachers’ Training College.

Based in Penang, Lim’s artistic practice is closely connected to the city’s architecture, people, streetscapes, and everyday life. His works reflect a keen appreciation of urban environments and the character of places, capturing their atmosphere through expressive lines, colour, and watercolour techniques.

Lim is a member of Penang Urban Sketchers, Penang Watercolour Society, and Penang Art Society, and serves as a committee member of the Royal and International Ink Painters Association.

He held his first solo exhibition, George Town: URBAN OASIS, at The Art Gallery Penang in 2023, followed by his second solo exhibition, Penang, People and Places, at G Hotel Kelawai, Penang, in 2026.

His selected group exhibitions include Celebrating Penang (2018); annual exhibitions organised by the Penang Watercolour Society (2019–2025); the South East Asia Watercolor Exhibition organised by the National Art Gallery (2020); the First International Architecture and Urban Landscape Watercolour Exhibition organised by the Canada International Watercolour Arts Society and Tianjin Artists Association (2021); Back to Nature (2021); and Precious (2022), both at The Art Gallery Penang.

Lim has also participated in various international art programmes and exhibitions, including the Art Bridge International Art Camp in Kajang (2024), Asialink Sketchwalk in Penang as a demonstrator (2024), Vibrant Lines and Colours – Malaysian Flavour at Southeast Art Museum, Suzhou, China (2025), and A Tale of Two Cities, a joint exhibition featuring Chinese and Malaysian artists at The One Academy, Penang (2025). In 2026, he participated in the Muar-Melaka International Charity Invitational Exhibition.

Through his art, Lim Jee Yuan continues to document and celebrate the visual character of Penang and the diverse urban landscapes and communities that have shaped his artistic journey.

Delaila Abdullah (b. 1975, Kuala Lumpur) is a Malaysian watercolour artist based in Kuala Lumpur whose work celebrates the vivid beauty of flora and landscapes. Although she began painting in childhood, she pursued art professionally in 2009, refining her skills through dedicated study and practice. Working primarily in watercolour, her style combines realistic detail with loose, expressive brushstrokes and a bright, uplifting palette.

Delaila’s work has received recognition, including First Place in the Pertandingan Lukisan Cat Air Floria Putrajaya in 2012. Her works have also been featured in notable exhibitions, including the International Women’s Day Art Exhibition (2012 and 2013), organised by ArtMalaysia; Of Moments and Memories – A Malaysian Watercolour Experience (2019), organised by Maybank Foundation; and Pameran Cat Air Southeast Asian (2020) at Balai Seni Negara Langkawi.

A member of the Malaysian Watercolour Society and Angkatan Pelukis SeMalaysia, Delaila continues to explore the interplay of colour, form, and nature in her work, creating paintings that are both vivid and serene.

Jessada Atigeard graduated from Srinakharinwirot University with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, majoring in Visual Art. His art is fueled by the vibrant essence of childhood—a stage of life that, to him, represents boundless creativity, innocence, and pure joy. He believes that ideas are as powerful as actions when it comes to creating value and leaving a lasting impact on others. For Jessada, art is not just a form of expression; it is a means of sharing happiness, sparking curiosity, and building connections that endure beyond the moment. His work often reflects these themes, using colors, forms, and textures to evoke the warmth and wonder of childhood memories.

Throughout his career, Jessada has exhibited his art in over 20 exhibitions, both locally and internationally, where his unique perspective has resonated with audiences. His commitment to his craft and the emotional depth of his work have earned him numerous awards in international art competitions, marking him as a celebrated figure in the visual arts community. Jessada’s achievements underscore his passion for art that not only captivates the eye but also touches the heart, leaving viewers with a sense of joy and a reminder of the value of creativity in everyday life.

Kampol Wanmah, an accomplished artist from Thailand, was born in 1976 in the culturally rich city of Nakhon Si Thammarat, where he continues to live and work today. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts, a foundation that has supported his growth as both an art teacher and a practicing painter. Kampol’s dedication to art is evident not only in his teaching but also in his commitment to creating evocative watercolor paintings. His work draws deeply from his daily experiences, translating ordinary moments into pieces that carry the essence of life in his surroundings. Through his skillful use of color and fluid technique, he captures the subtleties of everyday life, preserving them in a way that resonates with viewers.

Kampol’s career as an artist is marked by his participation in over 20 art exhibitions, both within Thailand and on international stages. His work has found appreciation among diverse audiences, gaining him a reputation as a sensitive observer of life through the lens of watercolor. As a creator, Kampol uses his art to share his perspective and the unique beauty he perceives in daily experiences, inviting others to find meaning in the simplicity of everyday scenes. His dual role as an educator and artist allows him to pass on his passion for visual arts, inspiring others to see the world with the same depth and appreciation he brings to his work.

Ideas for creating watercolor paintings /Loved shadow puppets and Nora since childhood. I always asked my parents to come and see them at temple fairs. I remember initially wanting to be a shadow puppet carver. But with being a child I don’t know where to learn. Therefore used the method of drawing on paper instead. Only by memorizing patterns from going to see a shadow puppet show. When I was a child, I could only draw pictures of clowns. and unable to draw difficult pictures, such as pictures of hermits, monks, women, and giants, because they could not remember enough details Until high school So it’s enough to draw some difficult pictures.

Nowadays, he often creates watercolor paintings. Using the uniqueness of the southern region Both the form and spirit, beliefs, traditions and way of life of Thai people in the south-central region.

Ismail Salam, born in 1978, is an artist and architect based in Pattani, Thailand. A graduate in Thai architecture from Chulalongkorn University, he has a deep passion for painting and sketching. Ismail specializes in architectural design, as well as watercolor and acrylic painting. He is a founding member of the Melayu Sketchers group, a community dedicated to watercolor art both online and offline in southern Thailand. In 2023, his work was featured in several exhibitions, including “Semela Semula” at TK Park in Pattani, “Lukis Pattani” in Pattani, “Art Music Poem 555” in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, and “Melayu Serumpun” in Kota Bharu, Malaysia.

Mahamu Arlae, born in 1962 in Yala, Thailand, is an artist who lives and works in his hometown, creating artwork using oil, acrylic, and watercolor techniques. His art has been featured in various exhibitions, including the Phitsanulok and Hua Hin Art Exhibition in 2022 and the Art Music Poem 555 event in Korat in 2023. Mahamu’s work reflects the surrounding environment and captures tourists’ emotions, bringing them to life with expressive brushwork.

Niphon Nikachi, Ph.D., born in Pattani, Thailand, in 1956, is a distinguished artist and executive advisory board member of the International Watercolor Society (IWS) following his retirement. He lives and works in Pattani, where he operates the Nikachi Art Gallery. Dr. Nikachi holds a Ph.D. in Fine Arts and has an extensive career as both an artist and educator.

He has held solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions both in Thailand and internationally. Over the years, he has earned numerous awards, including titles such as Art Teacher Thailand Model, the Ideal Art Teacher of Thailand, the Rajabhat Diamond, and the prestigious Gold Garuda.

R. Abbas Jasa is a painter, artist who is skilled in creating his paintings, Born 6 November 1975 – Education at Yogyakarta Fine Arts School – Indonesia.
