
Wei Xin, born in the ancient city of Jingzhou with a history of more than 2200 years in Hubei Province, is a member of the China Artists Association and the Chinese Folklore Photographers Association. His father is a renowned artist in lacquer and oil paintings, which sparked his interest in painting from a young age.
In 1997, Wei Xin graduated from the oil painting master’s class at South China Normal University, where he studied oil painting in Mr. Shang Yang’s studio. In 2010, he pursued further studies in contemporary oil paintings at Tsinghua University’s Institute of Fine Arts. In 2011, he became a visiting scholar, focusing on material performance art in the Oil Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts.
