Delaila Abdullah

Delaila Abdullah (b. 1975, Kuala Lumpur) is a Malaysian watercolour artist based in Kuala Lumpur whose work celebrates the vivid beauty of flora and landscapes. Although she began painting in childhood, she pursued art professionally in 2009, refining her skills through dedicated study and practice. Working primarily in watercolour, her style combines realistic detail with loose, expressive brushstrokes and a bright, uplifting palette.

Delaila’s work has received recognition, including First Place in the Pertandingan Lukisan Cat Air Floria Putrajaya in 2012. Her works have also been featured in notable exhibitions, including the International Women’s Day Art Exhibition (2012 and 2013), organised by ArtMalaysia; Of Moments and Memories – A Malaysian Watercolour Experience (2019), organised by Maybank Foundation; and Pameran Cat Air Southeast Asian (2020) at Balai Seni Negara Langkawi.

A member of the Malaysian Watercolour Society and Angkatan Pelukis SeMalaysia, Delaila continues to explore the interplay of colour, form, and nature in her work, creating paintings that are both vivid and serene.
