GANESH C.BASU

ARTIST STATEMENT

I search myself identity and self distinguished motive in order to make a something else – The Earth moves round the sun as usual from the times beyond our reach and simultaneously nature and the hard reality go hand to hand and it touches the string of mind as if I am standing alone by the side of various thought………..

So I travel – travel and travel, explore the Central Indian rock, cave and prehistoric art and culture and also travel exotic aura around tribal (Santhal, Birhor, Chenchu, Kanikkar, Urali, Riang, Nicobaress and Onge) Folk- art remains only at the aesthetic and philosophical levels. Then the matrix of experience exploration of my internal and external environment excavating the living moment in search of long forgotten Ancient life and culture. Travel time I keep paintings in my heart and mind the process will go on my canvas. The Ancient life and Culture expresses the passion the empathy between man and animal at the visible level and man and his own humanity at the invisible level.

Agricultural practices and the socio-economic reality in a word, the material conditions influenced the choice in the Vedas for instance, the horse (the vehicle of the Aryans) is the pre-eminent sacrificial animals and birds should be sacrificed for different reasons and occasion. From today’s perspective we can deplore the barbarity of animal sacrifice. Yet if we see the practice from the viewpoint of Neolithic times the sacrifice assumes and awes some significance. At the more ordinary level it is nothing nut an offering made to a superior being either as a thanksgiving or to placate it. This custom continues in our social relations even today. However, there is a basic difference between giving gifts as practised to and the sacrifice off living beings. The difference points no doubt to the cruelty of the practice…..

My deep and strong realisation Human, Animal and Nature, Communications make to the impact all human religion impediments in our contemporary society. I see My World is animistic, and  that world see things with life………!

So, then I try to find and create my own World (relation to the Europe, Latin America, Africa and Central Asia) mainly foundation of inspirations for my creations come from the Indian cave and rock paintings and also folk and primitive terminology. My paintings eccentric patterns of interlocking lines musical Gesture and I think my Aesthetically essence through this kind of colour like Red, Green, Yellow, Orange, Lemon Yellow, Sap Green, Vermilion Tint, Burnt umber, Blue, Stone black etc.

My composition is unlimited on power being as an Ancient life and Ancient Culture. So my experimental series – “ANCIENT LOVE” and other ……………… !

SPECIALITY :

I draw on Canvas and Handmade Paper with an Unbroken line, and use the Special Blowing Technique by Self-made Mouth Air Brush Tools ( mouth-Spray- gun ) to blow Colour on the Canvas and Paper ……. !!

This blow has to be repeated  again and again on the Canvas  with Acrylic Colour and  Handmade paper with Watercolour,  this is my very own technique and  Creative Speciality ……………… !!!

FARRUKH NEGMATZADE

Born in 1959 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. Graduated from Moscow Art school under the Academy of Arts of USSR. In 1982 graduated from Moscow State Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov. Member of exhibitions on republican, USSR and international level. His works are in museums and private collections worldwide.

Another side of the artistic life of modern Tajikistan is presented by works of Farrukh Negmatzade. Farrukh Negmatzade’s canvases sustained in a strict, realistic manner, seem slightly unexpected. To remain true to old kind traditions and stay away from any leading modern tendencies is not so easy in our days.

But it seems that adhering to old traditions requests no efforts for Farrukh Negmatzade. Over many years he remains, generally speaking, follower of the one theme… This is a rural life – within simple and plane lifestyle and slow rhythm.

Motifs of his canvases are also unpretentious. These are everyday situations, landscapes and portraits. They are somehow expressly unpretentious. Moreover, the artist prefers very restrained color range. Such restrained palette is typical, first of all, to modest, insipid and usual sketches. However, coloring becomes more sonorous in some works. Mostly these are women’s portraits or genre sketches.

Over the last years, the artist strives to expand subjects of his canvases and methods of plastic language. His manner becomes slightly relative and coloring nearly monochromic and his paints suddenly look somehow iconic. At the same time many of depicted motifs are solved by the artist somehow easily, even jolly with considerable portion of humor.

Generally Farrukh Negmatzade is revealed in these works completely from another side. He is not afraid of reproaches indicating the absence of some kind of wholeness.

There is obvious inclination to sings-metaphors in his new paints, remote echo of eastern miniature and nearly photographic fixing, ability to reproduce precisely the imperceptibility of the portrayed moment.

Only time will tell whether it can be taken as consistent search, or the artist will remain true to the found expressive methods.

KAREN DUPORTAIL

My name is Karen Duportail and I’m Mauritian. I’m 19 years old, soon to be 20 in September 2023. I just finished secondary school and I’m currently waiting for my HSC exam results, I’m thinking of pursuing a course in Arts at the university of my choice.

In my free time I like to play video games and read novels/mangas. I also recently developed a passion for crochet.

I have always loved doing drawing and exploring different techniques of doing arts. I learnt how to sculpt under the teaching of Mr Lewis Dick who is a teacher filled with enthusiasm about sculpture.

I mostly work on portraiture or human figure when doing my sculpting projects. I really enjoy the process of creating a beautiful piece of art from something rough like wood, to give live to it.

In the future I hope to expand my knowledge and to discover many more methods of doing art.

AIMRON YUNU

My work is unique as I am a true-blue Thai citizen with artwork consist the aura of Malay world. Probably due to our land relatively close to Malaysia and the community here have been practising the Malay culture for thousands of years.

I’m happy every time I make art. It gives me freedom for thoughts, good internal feeling in and out and provide therapy that give me the sense of relaxation and focus. I am an independent artist. I enjoy working on patterns and precise in every details. My works are strictly technical with variation of styles. I try and do new things as a form of process to improve my work, sticking to the original form.

FAITH series

I convey the impression of the beautiful heart of my beloved grandmother,  which represents the strong faith in religion and the belief in the good values that my grandmother guided me when I was a child. I realised the today’s world is full with materialistic struggle, competition and greed for power. I trust religion will lead us to a good life and refrain us from making the wrong turn in life and cause injustice to others. In my works, I repeatedly mentioned the importance of praying 5 times to remind ourselves to good deeds. Every prayer will make us close to God hence give us peace while living in this challenging world.
