Born in Tulung Agung, East Java, Indonesia on 14 April 1971, Imam has spent his life's journey by increasing the amount of working time drawing and painting. Common sensibility and the use of visual language for academic and artistic expression experiments with a variety of techniques is endless anxiety in his visual art movement. Social problems are his fundamental projects in his performance.

He believes that the notion of material must also be understood from the point of view of mysticism as magic, mimesis and alchemy. That is how one must look to realise his desire for works that have the power to change his inner self and have a message to the viewer. He created a series of images, usually taken from the immediate environment, which will appear in various stages of evolution. Often and represented in different ways, the image will have a series of differentiated meanings superimposed on each other.
