The bond between Malaysia and China could be traced back to the 15th century when Admiral Zheng He visited the land of Malacca. Many years later, the relationship becomes closer in the aspects of politics, economy, social and education.

The ignition of this exhibition entitled 'Friendship is Forever' is to commemorate the long-lasting friendship between these two nations when our former Prime Minister, late Tun Abdul Razak paid a visit to China to meet Mao Zedong in 1974. 40 years later, the son of the former Prime Minister, YAB Dato' Seri Najib Tun Razak who is the 6th Prime Minister of Malaysia continues to promote this international cultural exchange and foster their friendship with the commencement of this exhibition.

Indeed, the joint art exhibition, which is a part of Langkawi Art Biennale 2014, will be an ideal cultural platform to explore more ideas and create new works. This exhibition is exclusively reserved for Malaysia and China artists but is open for viewing to the public.
