PARTICIPATING ARTIST
Marvin Chew
Marvin Chew is a watercolour artist who practices art full-time. As the current Vice President of
the Singapore Watercolor Society, Marvin is actively involved in many local/international
exhibitions and competitions. A naturalist, he is often seen sketching and painting en plein air.
Since 2008, Marvin has been teaching art, and specializes in landscape as well as street scenes
watercolor paintings.
Marvin usually paints in semi-realistic, impressionist style, using transparent watercolors that
highlight the play of lights, shades and the spontaneous, bold brushstrokes in many of his works
which imbues the energy of Chinese calligraphy.
