Ru Shaojun is a Mongolian who was born in 1959 in Inner Mongolia. In 1982, he graduated from the Department of Fine Arts in Inner Mongolia Normal University. In 1988, he furthered his studies at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He is also a representative for Chinese Artists Association as a national artist and painter of China's National Academy. He also held the position of vice chairman of Baotou City Artists Association and Beijing Sam Ka painting curator.
