Liu was born in Liaoning Province, Taian County. He graduated from the Lu Xun Academy of Chinese Painting Department with a degree in the Bachelor of Arts In 2012, he further graduated with a Master of Chinese Painting under the Department of Art, Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts. Currently, he lives in Shenyang.
