Born in Bukit Mertajam, Penang in 1959, Wong Siew Lee began her career as a Quantity Surveyor. She obtained her Advanced Diploma in Visual Arts majoring in Printmaking from Central Academy of Arts, Kuala Lumpur. Siew Lee loves exploration and experimentation in creating artworks. Her monoprints combine various printmaking techniques: relief, intaglio, screen printing, chin colle and collagraph; connecting forms and design with overlapping printing to fully explore the visual expressiveness of mixed media. Besides printmaking, she has fervent interest in modern art abstract painting, depicting bold brushstrokes, and vivid colours dashing on the canvas. As an artist she has participated actively in art exhibitions locally and abroad such as international print exhibitions in Romania, Poland, UK, China, Taiwan, Macau, Korea & Malaysia. Currently Siew Lee is a Resident Artist of University of Malaya.
