Allen Tan

Allen Tan is a Malaccan born self-taught artist who expresses his emotions through his art, often using human relations and psyche as his main theme. He has worked as an art director in the advertising industry for more than 30 years, gaining exposure through all kinds of print, electronic and outdoor media channels. Some of his work has won many international accolades and awards for creativity and excellence in execution. His personal philosophy is to try and impart this passion into paintings that will touch people and carry a message. This was brought to reality when he took up the palette and paint brush again in 2002 and started his collection called “Truefaces”.

As a personal challenge, Allen Tan decided to embark on a task to paint on a single roll of traditional Chinese rice paper measuring 156cm x 1,000cm. The subject was horses and this painting has been recognized by the Malaysian Book of Records to be “longest horse painting on canvas.
