Everything begins with art; history has proven that art is both the channel and essence that supports the establishment of a civilisation. The basis of knowledge and development of the mind in regards to art will disseminate positive life values, especially among a diverse culture in today’s challenging times. The existence of art can even be helpful to curb social issues through activities and programmes within the context of visual art.

Langkawi Artist Visual Art Association (LAVAA) is officially established in 2009, operating at a temporary location while working on the basis to protect the local artists’ rights. Many programmes and visual art activities like exhibitions, demonstration and art sales, domestically and internationally, have been conducted frequently. LAVAA also constantly provides visual art services such as membership, information centres, counselling, consultancy, classes, seminars and workshops. Furthermore, tax incentives; art order and rental services are readily available too. As an up and coming art association, LAVAA is continuously working hard to achieve the results it needs for further development.
