Kaung Su was born in 1972 in Yangon, Myanmar. Between 1991-1994 , he studied painting under a local artist Pyi Soe Myint, and attended Yangon’s State School Of Fine Arts. He has been a regular participant in exhibitions since 1995, as well as performance art. In 2001, he had his very first one-man exhibition at Lawkanat Gallery in Yangon. He is not just an artist, he is also a video art/short film maker and author of several articles on Arts & Astronomy. In September 2011, he received Special Mention For New Vision Award of Wathan Film Festival (2011), Yangon. He has organised three international exchange programs that “Ongoing Echoes” International Art exchange Project since 2009, and participated in other several foreign art projects. In 2012, he was an inbound resident artist for one month with the Apex art Foundation in New York, U.S.A. He is also a founder of KSU art studio (Yangon) and BOD of New Zero Art Space. In early ­2013, he became a member artist of APT (Artist Pension Trust).
