Rick Lozada Hernandez
Born 1977 in Las Pinas, Rick Hernandez took up Fine
Arts at Technological University of the Philippines (TUP) and got his Bachelor
in Advertising Arts in 1999. His first job was a graphic artist under the
company of Ross Capili. For more than 10 years working with Rosscapil, he has
managed to work with some of our country’s premier artist like Bencab, Pandy
Aviado and Nap Jamir among others; working on their prints and artworks has inspired
him to paint. With Rosscapili as mentor, Hernandez has garnered some major awards
between 2001 and 2004. He is also included as one of the 50 Finalist in 2001
and 2003 Philip Morris Philippine Art Awards, and won 2nd place at the
Non-Representational Category of the 2012 GSIS Annual Painting Competition. He
has participated in numerous group exhibitions inside and outside Metro Manila
among them is his participation in the Philippine International Visual Arts
Fest and the 2010 Asian International Art Exhibition (AIAE) in Mongolia with
the “Homecoming” held at Bencab Museum in Baguio. He already had two solo
exhibitions one in 2011 and his latest this year.
