Zoltán Székács
Zoltán
Székács is born in a painter's family in Budapest, Hungary. He graduated from
the Hungarian Academy of Applied Arts, specialising in porcelain. Being a director
of the Design Studio of Budapest's Porcelain Factory since 1980, he received an
award for excellence in design in 1984.
In 1990, he shifted towards graphics and paintings that were displayed in numerous individual and collective shows like Palais Breuner Galéria, Wien, Austria in 2006, Karinthy Szalon, Budapest in 2010, Plakathouse, Nagykanizsa, Hungary in 2013 and many other shows ever since. Székács's work is characterised by a world of uniquely totemistic colours and forms of ancient cultures, symbolic systems that stand out as returning motifs of both his graphic. His associative paintings mix elements of the figurative and the abstract. As a lover of lyrical solutions, he expresses his emotions in various earthy colours.
